There are many attractions of all kinds, walk & bike tracks, canoeing, historic tours, camping, swimming, dining out, festivals, aboriginal culture, arts & crafts, markets, , this is just to name a few! Pemberton is a natural wonder surrounded by huge karri trees and abounding history.

  • Attraction: The Gloucester Tree

  • Description: The Gloucester Tree is a giant karri tree in the Gloucester National Park of Western Australia. At 72 metres in height, it is the world's tallest fire-lookout tree, and visitors can climb up to a platform in its upper branches for a spectacular view of the surrounding karri forest. Built in 1947, the Gloucester Tree was one of eight karri trees that between 1937 and 1952 were made relatively easy to climb so that they could be used as fire lookout spots. ]
  • Attraction: The Pemberton Tramway

  • Description: The Pemberton Tramway Company Pty Ltd is a privately operated tourist railway in the south west of Western Australia, which conveys tourists through deep forests and picturesque countryside as well as recreating the history of the timber railways that were so important to the regions development and growth. The railway uses paid and voluntary staff, and operates diesel hydraulic trams over a total route length of 10kms.

  • Description: This provides an interesting reminder of the early days when timber was cut by hands. This sawpit has been restored to how it would have looked in about 1865.
  • Attraction: Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree

  • Description: Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree originally a fire lookout tree was turned into a climbing tree in 1988. It is located in the Warren National Park in southwestern Australia. The two tonne platform, 75 meters up, is reached by climbing 130 metal spikes hammered into the trunk

  • Description: Nestled in the Gloucester National Park, The Cascades are a series of picturesque waterfalls that flow from the Lefroy Brook. Enjoy a day wandering through the forest and try fishing at the Cascades, then make use of the barbecue facilities to cook your catch.

  • Description: Discover the magic of the Karri Forest Walk through the Discovery Centre garden which depicts the understorey of a Karri Forest that changes with the seasons. Watch the film and enjoy the interactive displays, then explore the majesty of the Karri Forest through a 122 hectare forest park with walk trails, bird hides and interpretive panels that depict the birds and trees of the forest.

  • Description: The 48-kilometre drive, through the Shannon National Park, takes in some of the most spectacular old growth karri forest in WA's south-west.
